NaNoWriMo

I participated in this last year and got a decent novel up and running, which I'm still revising now, but am not sure if I should participate this year. I don't know if I have time to work on a new novel, revise my current one and keep up on the holidays going on.
I wonder if I could count my revision for the project. I might do that if its not against the rules as this revision is almost like writing a new book.

What about you guys, are you going to participate?
New or revision?
Do you go to the sit ins and other writer bonding events that are setup for it?
What are some of your most memorable moments dealing with NaNo?

  1. I didn't play last year, but the year before I did - sort of. If I remember right, I'd already started a WIP, but got 50k more words on it.

But this year I have an almost-complete outline, and I'll be ready to roll on Monday. Most likely I won't do the other events - who has that much free time?

  2. You're telling me. The holidays make this harder than it should be. I do enjoy it, so I will probably just do my major revision of my current WiP during the month. I hope to have it completed by the end of the year so I can do a final polish and start querying it.
